Kristen (Com ’02), Patrick (Col ’06) and Derek (Com ’17) Rush were all fortunate to graduate from the University of Virginia. Their parents were blessed to be involved with the Parents Committee for more than 15 years, serving as the co-chairs for two terms. The family created this scholarship to help other Virginia residents experience the many opportunities at this incomparable University.
The scholarship is awarded annually to a current 2nd or 3rd year student who is a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia and demonstrates academic merit, financial need and involvement in the University community. Preference may be given to first generation students. It is preferred financial aid should include work study, University loans and/or third party loans. Applicants should also have held or currently hold a job since entering UVA, either as part-time employment during the academic year or summer employment.
