Black Alumni Weekend 2024
April 19–21, 2024
More information will be released about BAW 2024 and ways to get involved in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, here are three things you can do:
- Mark your calendar to come back together on Grounds next spring.
- Tell your friends to make sure they know about this can’t-miss weekend in Charlottesville.
- Book your accommodations. Visit the Charlottesville Visitor’s Bureau website to review local options and make a reservation. We encourage alumni to book early, as accommodations are in high demand in the spring. Most area hotels open bookings 50 weeks to one year in advance.
Black Alumni Weekend (BAW) is a biennial celebration at the University of Virginia that began in 1985 as an admission recruiting effort hosted by the Walter Ridley Scholarship Committee. Since its inception, BAW has helped foster community among Black Hoos through educational lectures, career networking opportunities, and social activities. BAW is one of the nation’s premier alumni programs, bringing more than 1,500 alumni and friends back to Grounds to reconnect with each other and the University.
Black Alumni Weekend is presented by the UVA Alumni Association and supported by:
