The McIntire Latinx Scholarship Fund was created in 2023 by McIntire graduate Aslan Abrishami-Azar. While attending McIntire, Aslan’s experience as the President of the Latinx Student Network (LSN) and member of the McIntire Student Diversity Action Committee as a first generation student inspired a continued commitment to supporting students with similar upbringings.This scholarship, in turn, was created to support Latinx/Hispanic students enrolled in the McIntire School of Commerce to provide financial assistance, increase access to University resources, and to promote equitable opportunity through the service of socialist practices. Preference will be given to students with financial need, including those who may not qualify for financial aid as defined by UVA Student Financial Services but would benefit from scholarship assistance.
