Jefferson Kirby III and Carol Kirby established this scholarship in honor of Mr. Kirby’s mother, Lois Kirby, who worked as a teacher in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. This scholarship is designated for an incoming African-American student from Mississippi. The award is renewable for up to three additional years of undergraduate study at UVA as long as the recipient remains in good standing and is engaged in the UVA Community.
