H. Kruger Kaprielian Scholarship

To be eligible for consideration for the H. Kruger Kaprielian Scholarship, an applicant must prove Armenian descent.   All applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and must demonstrate financial need.

Any student offered admission to the University of Virginia who accepts their offer and intends to enroll the following fall may submit an application.  Currently enrolled students just learning about this opportunity should contact us at alumni-scholarships@virginia.edu for more information.  All applications must include at least three (3) forms of proof of Armenian descent (see sidebar for list of acceptable documents). Additional proof may be requested after the application has been submitted.

Renewability

Awards may be renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA:  Undergraduate 2.5; Graduate 3.0
  • Enrolled full-time at the University of Virginia (may not be used for study abroad)
  • Qualify to receive financial aid. Must submit the current award letter from Student Financial Services for the upcoming academic year.

Funds are only available for the standard academic year. Scholarships will be paid ½ in the fall semester, ½ in the spring semester. Scholarships cannot be used for J-Term or summer sessions.

Award amounts vary based on multiple factors. To apply, please complete an application and provide at least 3 documents that prove Armenian descent.
