The University of Virginia Alumni Association administers more than 250 different scholarships ranging from modest stipends to full tuition, room and board. Many of these scholarships are available through an application process independent of the University’s financial aid process. In 2023–24, these scholarships provided more than $2.8 million in aid to more than 450 students across Grounds.

Alumni Association Scholarships & Awards

Alumni Family Scholarship
The Alumni Association offers $5,000 scholarships to incoming first-year Alumni Family applicants.
Ridley Scholarship Awards
The Ridley Scholarship Family of Funds seeks to attract and retain the nation’s most meritorious African-American students to the University of Virginia.
Affinity Organization Awards
Affinity groups include fraternities, sororities, secret and honorary societies, sports teams, and a wide variety of student clubs and organizations.
School & Departmental Awards
All schools and most departments across the University offer a variety of scholarships and awards.
