Brian Cook Memorial Scholarship

In 1992, Brian Cook moved 2,000 miles away from Montana to attend the University of Virginia. Although he loved his experience at the school, he never lost his affection for his home state. He became an ambassador for the West at UVA–he introduced his new friends to the cultural and geographical uniqueness of Big Sky Country and brought many of them for visits. On trips home, he shared stories of UVA with his local friends and family, introducing them to the culture of Mr. Jefferson’s University. Brian’s passions for hockey, music, and, most importantly, friends, shaped his vibrant and meaningful life. After graduation, he planned to attend law school and practice in Montana. The Brian Cook Memorial Scholarship seeks to celebrate students who bring their unique interests to the UVA community.

Qualified students will be 3rd year history majors at UVA. First preference will be for students from Montana, with second preference for students from any western state except for California.
