Burhan Chaudhry Scholarship

The Burhan Chaudhry Scholarship was established in 2021 to honor Burhan Muhammad Chaudhry’s graduation from the University of Virginia. Burhan graduated from UVA with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science in 2 years. Through his 2 years at the University, he embraced many challenges as he went to school during the Covid-19 pandemic, yet he did not let virtual education hinder his impact at college. He was on the Executive Board of the Muslim Institute for Leadership and Empowerment, Cracking the Coding Interview Club, and was selected as an Ambassador for Microsoft representing the University on a global scale. He volunteered at numerous events, mentored peers and colleagues, and was an active part of the Muslim Student Association. He was able to do all of this while maintaining a high GPA earning him a spot on the Dean’s List both years and recognition from Microsoft for his work on Grounds and growing the tech community. During summers, Burhan interned at top companies including Noblis and Amazon Web Services, the latter of which he has returned to full time. His dedication to the University, community, friends, and family has always been evident which is why this scholarship was created to honor the impact he has had.

The scholarship seeks rising third- or fourth-year undergraduate students majoring in Computer Science who demonstrate strong merit and are of the Muslim faith.
