Each spring, two new board members from the current fourth year undergraduate class, along with other alumni who have graduated in the last 12 years, are selected to serve on Young Alumni Council. The Council seeks alumni who are passionate about working to optimize the post graduate experience for all young alumni, regardless of their involvement as students or their current engagement with the University as alumni.

Duties of Council Members
At the heart of Young Alumni Council are the 36 alumni that comprise its membership, composed of 2 representatives from each of the 12 most recent undergraduate classes and 12 at-large members.
Council member responsibilities include:
- Actively participate on one of the Council’s committees.
- Actively participate in Council-related activities.
- Represent the Young Alumni Council, the Alumni Association, and the University whether are on Grounds or in your respective community.
- Attend three annual Council meetings and committee meetings, as needed.
Members serve for a term of three years and may be eligible for re-election to an additional three-year period at the expiration of their first term. From its inception, Young Alumni Council has attempted to be a dynamic, proactive group. Each member is expected to be active and willing to take on responsibilities related to the goals of the Young Alumni Council.
