“Far Out” Windows of 122 Maupin in 1970

The windows of one of the suites in 122 Maupin, which housed first-year women in the Class of 1974. We had fun with “Day-Glo” paint and never had to remember the building number when giving directions. “Just look for the windows!”

The Drama Department Needs Women!

I was a drama major and we had classes, rehearsals and performances in Minor Hall for my first three years. In my senior year, we moved over to the brand new Culbreth Theatre and the smaller black box theatre, the Helms.

License to Graduate

When I was accepted to UVA in December 1990, my dad ordered a personalized license plate to celebrate the Class of 1995 before I had even stepped foot into LeFevre dorm for first year. After finding my car missing the prized plate more than once during my four years on Grounds, I had an extra for display. It seemed only fitting to wear the plate on gravitation day for the final walk down the Lawn. My car still bears the 1995 brand, and I often hear a honk and “Wahoowa” from fellow drivers.
