What does the BAW community mean to you?
Community is where I found life-long friends who support me no matter what. UVA is where I grew up really – coming there at 17 years old and adulting through age 21. As friends, we did many firsts together – as Wahoos. Friendships established later in life are not as deep and fulfilling as those established at Virginia. That’s a forever community. Wahoowa!

What does the BAW community mean to you?
Our community meant everything to me! My 4 years at UVA (89-93) were some of the best years of my life for so many reasons. The Black student population was TIGHT! It’s been 31 years but some of my GOOD GOOD GIRLFRIENDS today are from UVA, including my AKA line sisters and prophytes. These were special times that I’ll forever cherish!

The BAW community means my chosen family. A community of people who love, laugh, worship, and pray together. A community of people linked together through generations by virtue of their unique experiences at the University of Virginia
