The Ridley Scholarship Program will be awarding the 2024 Derek E. Brown Pre-Med Awards for pre-medical and pre-dental UVA alumni.
This scholarship will grant up to six recent UVA African American/Black undergraduate alumni (class of 2019–2024) with $3,000 awards each to defray the high cost of applying to medical or dental school. Recipients may use the awards to cover costs associated with applying to medical or dental schools.
To be eligible to receive this award, applicants must:
- Be a recent undergraduate alum of the University of Virginia (no more than 5 years removed)
- Be actively applying to medical or dental school programs
*Preference will be given to African American/Black males applying to medical or dental school.
The deadline for applications is 11:59 p.m. on August 31, 2024.
