The Ridley Board shares with deep sorrow the loss of former Board member Gregory S. Ledford. He was an integral supporter of the Ridley Scholarship Program and a friend to both the program and the University of Virginia.
Mr. Ledford earned his degree from the McIntire School of Commerce in 1979. He stayed connected to UVA and the McIntire School throughout his life, and was committed to making the UVA student experience the best it could be. In 2007, he established the Gregory Ledford Ridley Endowed Scholarship, which provides full tuition-and-fees for two years to a rising third-year Black student in the McIntire School of Commerce.
We honor Gregory and all he did for the Ridley Scholarship Program, which has left an indelible mark on the University and will continue to impact Black students at UVA for years to come.
