Membership Program

Why does Membership matter?

Building community is at the heart of the Alumni Association’s mission. Membership in the Alumni Association helps you celebrate the UVA alumni experience, whether you’re eating dinner under the stars at Reunions, connecting with alumni near and far, or introducing your future Hoos to UVA. It also means the Alumni Association matters to you and it should exist to serve our community.

How do I become a member?

You can apply for Membership online. If you’d like to apply for Membership by mail, please call 434-243-9000 and ask for Membership to begin the application process.

What benefits do I receive?

Contributing Members receive an array of benefits including special access opportunities like early Reunions registration and a Contributing Member-exclusive perks platform, as well as all the benefits of General Membership. General Membership recognizes all alumni as members of the Alumni Association through benefits including access to Virginia Magazine and Alumni Association events and programs. I donate to the University, does that make me a UVA Alumni Association Contributing Member?

No. Contributing Membership in the UVA Alumni Association is a separate affiliation that supports the UVA alumni community. Here are other ways to contribute to the Alumni Association.

Can I gift a Contributing Membership to someone else?

Yes! Gift options are available for UVA alumni and for current UVA students.

How do I request a replacement Membership card?

Call the Alumni Association at 434-243-9000 and ask for Membership, or email Your Membership Card is also available through the UVA Alumni Association Member App, which can be found on the App Store and Google Play.

How do I update my address?

Financial Information

What is the cost of Membership?

General Membership is free and open to all. A Contributing Membership will be a tax-deductible rate of $900. Students and young alumni (those who have graduated in the last 10 years) will be eligible for a discounted rate of $675.  Payment plans are available.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! We offer a 10-month payment plan that is automatically charged to your credit card. You can select a payment plan as part of the application process.

What forms of payment do you accept?

You can purchase a Membership with Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, cash, check or money order.
