About Evan Powers
Evan Powers (Darden ’09) is a Financial Planner with Cypress Financial Planning, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor firm based in Westville, New Jersey.
Evan has more than 10 years of financial industry experience, with extensive knowledge of a wide variety of financial products and strategies. He received his undergraduate degree cum laude from Harvard, with a concentration in Economics, and spent four years on Wall Street, trading equity and index options on the floor of the American Stock Exchange. After leaving New York to get his MBA at Darden, he decided to stay in Charlottesville. Evan co-founded and managed Phase Three Capital, LLC, a private investment company with a focus on low-volatility investing strategies. Evan joined Cypress in 2013 to expand the firm’s presence to Virginia, where he manages a satellite office. He works with individuals, families and small institutions to develop comprehensive financial plans to help them meet their long-term lifestyle goals.
Evan is also an avid athlete and sports fan. While at Darden, he completed internships with the Washington Nationals and the University of Virginia athletic department, helping both organizations to develop and organize marketing and community outreach strategies. A Boston native, he ran the 2010 Boston Marathon while raising money for the Bay State Games charity program.
