About Chris Smith

Chris Smith (Com ’94) is SVP, Enterprise Social Media Executive for Bank of America Corporation. Chris manages the Social Center of Excellence responsible for the bank’s global social media strategy, execution and operations.

Prior to Bank of America, Chris was Director of Product Marketing and Promotions for America Online and Netscape Communications. Over a 12 year span, he was responsible for OEM and Retail Promotions of the AOL Service – these channels included 25k retail stores and 50 million PCs shipping annually. Chris was also responsible for development of DHTML versions of Netscape Mail, AOL Mail and the Spinner music streaming services. Prior to AOL, Chris was a Senior Consultant for Andersen with a focus on client-server applications.

Chris has a BS from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia with a focus on Finance. He also did some coursework on Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Texas at Austin while on sabbatical from Netscape.
