BAW Kick-Off Event & DJ Round Robin

Friday, April 19
Start the best weekend of the spring by kicking back, reconnecting and dancing with classmates at Alumni Hall! Alumni DJs from across generations will take you back to your days at UVA. Hosted in partnership with the Ridley Scholarship Program.

The Cookout & Talent Expo

Saturday, April 20
Don’t miss your chance to connect with alumni, family, friends, and students at the McIntire Amphitheatre at the premier event of the weekend, followed by the student step show.

The Party

Saturday, April 20
Cap off an iconic weekend at The Party, where we’re celebrating 50 years of hip hop with alumni DJs at BAW’s signature late-night event.

The UVA Alumni Association is committed to making BAW 2024 an inclusive and accessible experience for everyone. When you purchase your ticket for BAW, you’ll have the option on the registration form to indicate if you require any disability-related accommodations to successfully participate in the event. If you do require an accommodation, a member of our team will email you about your request.

In the interim, if you have questions regarding accessibility at BAW, please email baw@virginia.edu.

Accommodations are in high demand in Charlottesville in the spring, so we encourage alumni to book as soon as possible. Visit the Charlottesville Visitor’s Bureau website to review local options and make a reservation. In addition to Airbnb and Vrbo, check out Stay Charlottesville, a regional home rental option.

The attire for most BAW events is casual. Cocktail attire is requested at BAW Live. Oh, and if you’re headed to the Saturday Night Party: you should dress to impress.

Additionally, indoor locations are heavily air-conditioned, please bring a jacket, shawl, or sweater to ensure you stay comfortable.

There is a lot going on in Charlottesville and on Grounds this weekend! Between BAW, the Spring Football game, the Virginia Challenge Track and Field Meet, and various concerts/shows at JPJ and downtown, traffic and congestion is likely. Please use caution (and patience) on the road!

Accessible Parking

If you have a valid disabled permit or license plate displayed, you may park in an accessible parking space anywhere on Grounds. Click here to view an Accessibility Map of Grounds.

Free Parking

For your convenience, free parking is available at the following locations during BAW.

All other parking garages, spots and lots on Grounds and in Charlottesville are subject to enforcement by citation or towing based on posted signage.

Paid Parking

Paid parking will be available at the Central Grounds Garage (Zone 5515) via the ParkMobile app only. The University no longer utilizes parking attendants or kiosks to take payment. Please familiarize yourself with the app before coming back to Grounds if you plan to park in the Central Grounds Garage.

Access to on-Grounds recreation facilities is provided as part of your BAW registration. Simply show your BAW nametag at the facility to receive a guest pass. Call 434-924-PLAY or visit virginia.edu/ims for more information.

BAW ticket sales are now closed, and the ticket cancelation/modification deadline has passed. We can’t wait to see you back on Grounds April 19-21!

  • University Transit (UTS) Buses: You can ride any UTS bus for free by showing your BAW nametag. UTS schedule and route information
  • Free City Trolley: The free city trolley connects students, community members, and visitors between Downtown Charlottesville, the Corner, and Grounds. View the trolley route

Celebrate Responsibly

We encourage alumni to celebrate safely and responsibly at BAW. For your convenience and safety, please consider calling a taxi or car service to get home safely.
