What is Homecomings?

Homecomings is the series of events and home football game one weekend every fall that the University sets aside to celebrate past and present students at the University. The events are open to the public in Charlottesville, Alumni, as well as students, faculty, and staff and are geared toward showcasing the best the University has to offer.

Where can I register to attend a Homecomings Weekend event?

Events requiring registration will be noted as such in the schedule of events. A link to the registration website and registration contact information will also be listed in the schedule.

Are there blocked hotel accommodations for Homecomings Weekend?

There are not blocked accommodations for Homecomings Weekend. However, you can visit the accommodations page for a list of area hotels.

How can I submit an event to be included on the schedule of events?

To post your event, the submit your event page. Your submission will be reviewed and posted within 24 hours.

Are there any planned events already?

The Homecomings schedule of events is updated as events are submitted online.

The Alumni Association actively works with the Homecomings Board to plan Homecomings at the University. The Homecomings Board was established by students to help organize various student groups around Grounds, such as the Class Councils, University Programs Council, and Student Council in order to ensure certain events occur during Homecomings Weekend. Currently, the scheduled events include a cookout on Grounds, various receptions and tailgates, as well as the Homecomings football game.
