Welcome to Alumni Career Services (ACS). Our goal is to support University of Virginia alumni with quality career management resources throughout their careers.

Scheduling an appointment with a career advisor is done online, not through email or phone. Appointments can be held over the phone, via Skype, or in person. Please see our Career Advising page for more information.

Amanda Panarese photoAmanda Panarese – Director. Amanda is enjoying her second career, in career advising and development, as Director of Alumni Career Services with the UVA Alumni Association. She began this second career in 2012 as a career advisor with the UVA Darden School of Business, advising hundreds of residential MBAs on careers in technology, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Previously, Amanda was a corporate marketing professional with proven success in strategic marketing/ communications, product marketing management, branding, project management, business development, and public relations.

Eric Hunter – Associate Director, Alumni Professional Networks. Eric joins us from the VMI Alumni Association, where he led alumni career services efforts for 8 years with a focus on increasing the communication among alumni for professional development opportunities. Before returning to VMI, he started a personal finance mentoring company and worked with individuals and couples to become financially organized. His initial position after graduating was with Ernst & Young in their advisory Services division. He graduated from VMI in 2008 with a B.A. in Economics and Business and a Concentration in Financial Management.

Liz Sprouse photoLiz Sprouse – Associate Director and Senior Career Advisor. Liz joined Alumni Career Services in 2005; previously she worked in marketing and event management with the Alumni Association. Liz has primary responsibility and oversight for alumni career advising and related outreach. A Charlottesville native, Liz holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree from Mary Baldwin University. She is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) and Certified Master of Career Services (CMCS), as well as a practitioner of the Strong Interest Inventory (SII) and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessments.
