Teri Lovelace has done exactly that, and she will help you explore careers in the non-profit sector that allow you to align your personal and professional values. In this webinar, Teri will investigate the growing number of jobs in the nonprofit sector and examine the skills needed for these careers. She will dispel myths about working for nonprofits as well as address some of the challenges that are unique to this meaningful career choice.
About Teri Lovelace
Teri Lovelace, Esq. (Col ’82) is the Vice President of Philanthropic Services for The Community Foundation, Serving Richmond and Central Virginia. In this role, Teri works with donors and professional advisors with complex charitable gifts such as charitable trusts, bequests and gift annuities. Previously, she worked in development with the Tuckahoe Family YMCA and William Byrd Community House.
Teri has her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, her law degree from the University of Richmond and her M.B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Teri’s professional background is in law and business, serving as Corporate Attorney with Hunton & Williams law firm and Assistant General Counsel to AMF Bowling before entering the nonprofit world. She was also part of the senior management team of the $1.2 billion Dalkon Shield Claimants Trust where over 600,000 women were compensated for their injuries resulting from the A.H. Robins bankruptcy.
Her volunteer activities include serving on the Board of Managers of the UVA Alumni Association, Board of Directors of the Jefferson Scholars Foundation, Richmond Kiwanis, Drive to Work and The Chrysalis Group. Teri is immediate past president for the Virginia Gift Planning Council. She is past president of the UVA Club of Richmond, and a graduate of both LMR Class of 2006 and the Emerging Nonprofit Leaders Program Class of 2009. Teri also serves as a half marathon coach with the Richmond Sports Backers.
