In partnership with the University, the Alumni Association has made the difficult decision to postpone Reunions 2020 to next year. With UVA under quarantine, summer programs halted through June 30, the Virginia governor banning gatherings of more than 10 people and instituting shelter-in-place restrictions, and with public health the priority, we and our University partners saw no other option.
We’re moving the celebrations for the class years ending in -0 and -5 to June 2021, combining those events with the Reunions planned for the class years ending in -1 and -6. We’ll share more details about next year’s celebration later this spring, but here’s what you need to know now:
- Refunds: In the coming weeks, you will receive a full refund of your registration fees in the manner in which you originally paid. The refund will be manually processed by the UVA Alumni Association – no action is required on your part. Please note that credit card refund times vary by merchant and bank, and it may take up to 15 business days for you to see this refund reflected on your statement.
- On-Grounds housing reservations: If you booked accommodations on Grounds for Reunions, you will be fully refunded by Conferences@UVA. You will be prompted via email from Conferences@UVA to complete a change and cancellation form. If you have questions in the meantime, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Hotel reservations: If you made a reservation to stay in a local hotel for Reunions, you are responsible for canceling the reservation in accordance with that hotel’s cancellation policy. Some hotels may require that you call to cancel an existing reservation.
You can learn more about our Reunions plans, as well as other resources available to you through the Alumni Association at https://alumni.virginia.edu/coronavirus/. We hope you and your family are staying safe and well.
