Vice President for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Community Partnerships Kevin McDonald and Chair of the Ridley Scholarship Program Consuelo Kendall (Col ’03) host a conversational session about current Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives at UVA. Special guest, Associate Dean of OAA Dr. Michael Gerard Mason will also join to provide insight on the Black student experience.
Deborah Stroman PhD, CLU (Educ ’82, Basketball) hosts a conversation with fellow alumni athletes to discuss lessons learned, life updates and the current state of college sports. Panelists include Tomika Ferguson (Col ’07, Track & Field), Anthony Harris (Col ‘14, Football), Terrell Jana (Batten ’21, Football), Wendy Palmer (Col ’96, Basketball), Ralph Sampson (Col ’83, Basketball), and Bryant Stith (Col ’92, Basketball).
Hosted by the UVA Medical Alumni Association. Despite having one of the highest COVID-19 mortality rates in the U.S., Black Americans are among those least likely to get vaccinated. Experts from the medical field have a conversation about how COVID-19 has impacted the Black community and barriers preventing them from being vaccinated. Panelists include Grace D. Appiah (Med ’08), Reiesha Graham (Med ’13, PhD’10) and Jerome H. Taylor Jr. (Med ’11).
