The Virginia Club of New York’s grants are intended to invest in institutions that embody and encompass values consistent with its mission: “to create and maintain a strong connection between the University of Virginia and its students, alumni, and their families and friends in the tri-state region.”

Through its grants, the Club seeks to make charitable investments that support organizations that impact the University of Virginia and New York City communities and align with the mission of the Virginia Club of New York. Applicants are evaluated on five criteria: mission alignment with the Virginia Club, impact on UVA, impact on the New York City community, impact on the Virginia Club, and impact on the applying organization.

Past recipients include: the Blue Ridge Scholarship, Change for Kids, the College Foundation of the University of Virginia (for the Kenneth G. Elzinga Professorship), the Fralin Museum of Art  Student Docent Program, the Fresh Air Fund, the Glen D. Kirwin 9/11 Scholarship, HackCville, Harlem Lacrosse and Leadership, the Jefferson Scholars Foundation, and University Soup Kitchen.

The 2023 Grants cycle is now closed. Please check back in fall 2023 for the next cycle!
