UVA alumna and sommelier Rosemary Walker (CLAS ’03) of Together-Ness will lead us in a virtual introductory wine tasting from the comfort of our homes.

Rosemary will guide us through a tasting of three styles of wine: Chardonnay from Burgundy, Rosé from Provence, and Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley.

Throughout the casual guided tasting, she will also provide an overview on purchasing and tasting wine. She will cover questions such as: What is the proper temperature to serve wine? How does buying wine in a restaurant differ from buying wine in a retail setting? Why do certain wines go in certain glasses?

Participants will be responsible for bringing their own wines to this virtual tasting. For a list of Rosemary’s recommended producers that distribute nationally within an accessible price range, see here.

Registrants will receive the Zoom link via email prior to the event. We ask that participants register by 12:00 p.m. the day of the event.
