UVA is teaming up with Story Pirates, a nationally respected education and media organization founded to celebrate the words and ideas of young people. They are best known for the Idea Storm Program, a master-class writing workshop that brings teaching concepts to life, followed by a musical sketch comedy show featuring stories by students and performed by professional artists/comedians.

Our group will be participating in their Story Love program where we’ll read the original stories written by kids in the writing workshops and provide positive, personalized feedback for each one! Each year, Story Pirates helps tens of thousands of children write a complete, original story, but Story Pirates is only able to perform a handful of these stories at schools across the country. Story Love is a way of showing students that we have read their stories and care about what they have to say even if they aren’t chosen to have their story performed.

On June 10th, we’ll gather for a fun evening of eating, drinking, and story reading and give love to the stories of aspiring young students!
