UVA Glee Club Concert & Reception

Join us for a concert and reception featuring the critically acclaimed, University of Virginia Glee Club.This reception will feature hors d’oeuvres and a short program of UVa songs (with alumni encouraged to sing along!). The UVA Glee Club is the University’s oldest musical organization and one of the oldest all-male collegiate vocal ensembles in the United States. It is currently conducted by, grammy-award winning conductor, Frank Albinder. Our reception will also feature Yale University’s Whim ‘n Rhythm, the nation’s premier undergraduate female a cappella singing group. Comprised entirely of Yale seniors, Whim ‘n Rhythm has delighted audiences from Maine to Hong Kong, from Club Med to the White House.

The Glee Club will also be performing in legendary Carnegie Hall in “Of War, Peace, and the Power of Music,” a concert honoring the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. The Glee Club will join nine other college and high school choirs from across the country and around the world, singing both a solo set and the combined finale, the final movement from Ralph Vaughan Williams’s monumental Dona Nobis Pacem (Grant us Peace).
