Reimagining Curatorship in the 21st Century

June 9, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us for an online event in which Molly Schwartzburg, Curator for the Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library at the University of Virginia, will discuss her approach to building collections in the face of 21st century upheavals, both locally in Charlottesville and across the nation. This program will also explore how our special collections aim to document and contextualize University history in a way that represents our whole community.

Increasing the diversity of the collections is essential to the Library’s instruction, outreach, and research. The more diverse and inclusive the collections, the more diverse the research community, and the more students feel that the library represents each of them, not just the dominant culture.

Registrants will be emailed a Zoom link prior to the event. We ask that participants register by 12:00 p.m. the day of the event.

If you have questions, feel free to email us at uvanyc@uvanyc.org.
