The Cavalier Marching Band is heading to New York City for the 2015 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It’s one of 10 bands selected to perform on Nov. 26, 2015, beating out more than 175 applicants nationwide. Imagine the sound of UVA’s finest beneath the shadows of Superman, Underdog, Bullwinkle and Snoopy.

We have more great news! UVA President Teresa Sullivan has issued a $25,000 matching challenge. Added to the UVA Parents Fund Committee’s $50,000 challenge gift − they matched every dollar given up to the $50,000 mark−we are almost finished meeting the estimated $250,000 cost of this exciting trip. Please give today and help send the CMB to NYC.   Central Meeting point for UVa fans to watch the parade is at Columbus Circle at 60th Avenue and Central Park West! Get there early! We won’t be saving spots, but many of our staff members will head to Columbus Circle as early as 6:30am!
