5th Annual Arts Panel – The Arts in Action
March 29, 2018 @ 6:15 pm - 8:15 pm

The events of August 2017 in Charlottesville posed a challenging question for the University of Virginia—how do you serve a community in crisis? Join the STUDIO Committee for the fifth annual Arts Panel where arts leaders from UVA will share how they are using the arts and addressing issues of racism and diversity in their work, as a means of facilitating dialogue, uniting the Charlottesville and University communities, and healing the wounds caused by recent events.
Panelists will include:
- Moderator: Jody Kielbasa, Vice Provost of the Arts at the University of Virginia and Director of the Virginia Film Festival
- Matthew McLendon, Director and Chief Curator of The Fralin Museum of Art
- Margo Smith, Director and Curator of The Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection
- Jenny Wales ’89, Artistic Director of The Heritage Theater Festival
