2021 Arts Panel
June 29, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join STUDIO for a virtual edition of our eighth annual Arts Panel, focused on Representation in Contemporary Art
Once again, STUDIO is taking our annual Arts Panel virtual! This year’s conversation will address ways in which recent social movements, such as Black Lives Matter and Stop Asian Hate, as well as other movements based on ethnicity, race, and cultural backgrounds, have shaped and will continue to shape the way the arts operate.
Moderated by Melanie Adams (CLAS ’91), Director at the Smithsonian Institution, Anacostia Community Museum, the panel will feature:
- Steven J. Kung (CLAS ’99), Staff Writer for Dear White People
- Marina Tyquiengco (CLAS ’11), Curatorial Assistant in the Department of Contemporary Art at Museum of Fine Arts Boston
- Psyche Williams-Forson (CLAS ’87), Professor and Chair at University of Maryland Department of American Studies
Registrants will be emailed a Zoom link prior to the event. We ask that participants register by 12:00 p.m. the day of the event.
