2019 Media Panel: The State of TV

January 10, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

TV is dead, long live TV. With the surging popularity of streaming services, there are a myriad of ways for consumers to watch television, and more content is being created than ever before. In today’s media climate, does cable TV even matter?

All alumni, parents, and friends are invited to the Virginia Club of New York for our annual Media Panel. This year’s discussion will explore the world of television today, including changes in consumption patterns, the evolution of the business model and advertising, media consolidation, social competitors, and the persistent presence of cable and broadcast in your living room. The panel will be comprised of former and current top media executives, including:

  • Mel Berning (CLAS ’76, PAR ’18), President of Ad Sales at A&E Networks
  • Michael Schreiber (COM ’98), President of Altice USA News
  • Ed Swindler (CLAS ’76, GSAS ’82, DAR ’84, PAR ’14), Former President of NBCU Domestic TV Distribution and NBC Broadcast Operations
  • Brittany Terrell (CLAS ’11) – Producer at NBC News

Please click here to RSVP in advance. Admission is free for members and $15.00 for non-members. Admission is inclusive of networking cocktail receptions before and after the panel. Members may purchase a maximum of two tickets at the member rate. Not a member yet? Join today!
