Join Hoos in Entertainment for a keynote conversation with award-winning director Lear deBessonet (CLAS ’02), the Founder of Public Works and the Resident Director at the Public Theater. A champion of community engagement and participatory theater, deBessonet has directed pageant-style productions of The Tempest, The Winter’s Tale, and The Odyssey, each featuring over two hundred New Yorkers from all five boroughs. Join us as Lear reflects on her early years in NYC and the trajectory of her career . The evening will be moderated by Richard Warner, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Drama at the University of Virginia.
Following the conversation, attendees will enjoy a networking cocktail hour, where all will have the opportunity to connect with fellow Wahoos who are working in or are interested in learning more about the entertainment industry in NYC.
