The UVaClub of Charlottesville is proud to serve our community in various ways. In the fall of 2014, our Service Committee began scheduling regular shifts at the Loaves and Fishes food pantry off Route 29. A group of our volunteers assisted with the Monticello Holiday Classic 5K at Mr. Jefferson’s home in December 2014. In April 2015, we participated in Relay for Life at UVa for the first time among hundreds of students. With our various volunteer opportunities, it’s easy to complete the Fifteen in 15 service initiative that UVaClubs are taking part in around the world.
Most recently on May 31, our Service Committee met at the Ronald McDonald House to prepare dinner for the families staying their while their loved ones receive care at the UVa Medical Center. We enjoyed whipping up some fresh and healthy cuisine while getting to learn more about one another. Here is one of our members, Eliza, proudly displaying her yummy farro caprese salad!
