I’ve been working at Bain & Company (a management consulting company) ever since I graduated in 2012, and I have loved my experiences so far. I’ve worked with clients ranging from large retail companies to small non-profits on a variety of different projects. My job is based in Bain’s San Francisco office but over the last few months I’ve been fortunate enough to transfer to our Sydney office. I’ll be here for the next four months and then headed back to San Francisco in August.
Australia has been amazing. There is bizarre wildlife, beautiful landscapes and very welcoming people. I’ve been doing my best to adapt to a new culture and trying to fit in plenty of weekend adventures (New Zealand, Tasmania, etc.)
The advice I’d offer current students is to look for opportunities after graduation that are risky and a bit out of their comfort zone. Whether it’s moving to a new country, applying for a job you really want or just taking some time to travel the world. You’ve got an opportunity at this time in your life to do anything you want. An opportunity that will quickly fade as you gain more responsibilities and find reasons as to why not. You’ve been prepared with a great education and an outstanding community that you will take with you for the rest of your life. Now is the time to test out what you’ve learned and take on a new set of challenges. Best of luck and Wahoowah
