Celebrate the start of the UVA Bicentennial in Las Vegas at our ice cream social with other Hoos around the world! We in Las Vegas have decided to commemorate the start of celebrations with an ice cream social. Did you know that the oldest recipe for ice cream in the Library of Congress is a note written by Mr. Jefferson himself? He frequently provided ice cream to his guests while he was President.
The celebration will be from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6. We will celebrate at Glaziers Market, 8525 West Warm Springs Road, on the southeast corner of Warm Springs and Durango, about 1 mile south of the 215.
The ice cream stand inside Glaziers has a wide selection of gelato, sorbet, and ice cream and makes about every kind of treat. Depending on the weather, we will have UVA reserved seating area for the event at Glaziers indoors or on their patio. This is a great event for the whole family. Each person you register gets two tickets. Each ticket is good for one item; soft drink, espresso, smoothie, up to 3 scoop cone or dish with an assortment of toppings, milkshake, sundae, banana split, etc. It’s a real bargain, and taxes and tip are included.
Location details: When you enter Glaziers, the ice cream stand is immediately on your left. After that left turn, proceed past the ice cream stand to the UVA seating area to get your tickets.
Sign up now! Hope to see you there.
