Saeed Razavi

Saeed Razavi is an incoming first year student as part of the University of Virginia Class of 2021. Specializing in computer science, engineering design, 3D modeling, public relations, communications, and leadership skills, Saeed graduated from South Lakes High School (SLHS) in 2017 as a member of the National Honor Society and SLHS Business Honor Society. Having earned the Advanced Diploma and International Baccalaureate Career Certificate upon graduation, Saeed also obtained a certification in Autodesk Inventor and a Wise Financial Literacy Certification in his junior year of high school. Throughout his high school career, Saeed dedicated himself to his school and local community acting as: Head Programmer and eventually President of the SLHS Computer Science Club, Cup of Java; secretary of SLHS Girls Learn International; and Chief Digital Model Engineer of STEAM Team: a student organization which works closely with the Town of Reston to create dynamic public art installations. Notably, within Cup of Java, Saeed and his team placed 3rd in the advanced division of the 2016 DC Area Lockheed Martin Code Quest programming competition and within STEAM Team he not only worked with the team to create digital sculpture models, but also had a hand in final construction and various presentations to the Reston Design Review Board for community approval and input. Saeed hails from the Herndon/Reston area of Northern Virginia and will have moved into UVA housing this August.

As Saeed begins his journey at UVA, he can’t help but get excited for all the new people he will meet, perspectives to which he will be exposed, and opportunities he will have to engage with the UVA community.
