The UVaClub of Washington, DC and KEEN Greater DC needs 12 volunteers to coach Virginia teen and young adult athletes (young people, ages 16-21, with physical and developmental disabilities) for an afternoon of bowling. As a volunteer coach, you’ll be paired on-to-one with a KEEN athlete, help the athlete with his (or her) bowling ball, celebrate his efforts with him, give him opportunity to work on his social skills and help him have fun! No experience is necessary. Training is provided.
After registering through the UVaClub website, KEEN has asked volunteers to also register and sign up here also: http://www.keengreaterdc.org/va-bowling-sign-uva-club
(Please note: volunteers need to use the above link twice. First to register to become a KEEN volunteer and then to sign up for this particular event.)
About KEEN Greater DC:
KEEN Greater DC is a nonprofit volunteer-led organization that provides one-to-one recreational opportunities for children and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities at no cost to their families and caregivers. KEEN’s mission is to foster the self-esteem, confidence, skills and talents of its athletes through non-competitive activities, allowing young people facing even the most significant challenges to meet their individual goals.
