The Washington Nationals are hosting their 2nd Annual College Rivalry Day on Wednesday, June 29 when they take on the New York Mets.  Join the UVA Club of Washington as we cheer on former UVA baseball star Ryan Zimmerman, Racing President Mr. Jefferson, and our Washington Nationals!  The promotion will incorporate several elements of the UVA-VT rivalry throughout the game.  Last year, former UVA basketball player Justin Anderson and former VT football player Darryl Tapp threw out first pitches, Cavman & Hokie Bird and our cheerleaders appeared at the game, the Nats played the school fight songs, UVA & VT alumni sang the National Anthem and GOD Bless America, concessions stands served UVA & VT themed food (resembling the Gus Burger and turkey leg), and Racing President Tom won the Presidents Race!
