Over the past 12 months, over 200,000 students have enrolled in the massively open online course (MOOC) titled “Foundations of Business Strategy” and offered on the Udemy and Coursera platforms. Professor Michael Lenox will share his experiences in creating and facilitating a MOOC course. Furthermore, he will reflect on the possible ramifications of online education for traditional universities and our higher education system. Referencing his research on disruptive technologies and their impact on industry dynamics, Professor Lenox will discuss the disruptive potential of MOOCs.

Michael Lenox is the Samuel L. Slover Professor of Business at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business where he coordinates and teaches the core MBA strategy course. He also serves as Associate Dean and Academic Director of Darden’s Batten Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and as the President for the multiple-university Alliance for Research on Corporate Sustainability.

Please join us at 6:30 p.m. for general networking. The program will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m., followed by a post-lecture reception.
