The Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia is a companion facility to the Museum on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Opened in 2003. It includes two huge hangars — the Boeing Aviation Hangar and the James S. McDonnell Space Hangar — where thousands of aviation and space artifacts are displayed, including a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, a Concorde, and the Space Shuttle Discovery.
This event on September 8th will feature an optional lunch gathering at a nearby restaurant (more details to come), followed up with a museum tour with Wee Yee, the president of UVAAPAAN who has been volunteering as a docent at the Udvar-Hazy Center for years. All are welcome to join and explore the fascinating world of aeronautic and aviation science.
