For the Family: Holiday Cards for Wounded Service Members

Monday, November 27
7:00pm – 9:00pm
Martha Washington Library
6614 Fort Hunt Road
Alexandria, VA 22307

Suggested Donation of $5 per family

Please bring your families to join us in creating holiday cards for veterans and service members in support of our local American Red Cross chapter’s Holiday Mail for Heroes program.

We will be creating personalized cards that will be bundled with blank, pre-stamped holiday cards and will be delivered to veterans or members of the Armed Services who are wounded, ill or injured at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and/or Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. This is a great way to recognize and thank our service members while also allowing them to send holiday greetings to their loved ones.

Kids can come dressed in their favorite pajamas and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies while creating their handmade cards. This is a great way to kick off the holiday season with your children to stress the importance of giving back and service to others!

There is an optional donation of $5/family to offset the costs of purchasing blank holiday cards and stamps to be included in the bundle. If you would like to bring your own blank cards and stamps, you are welcome to do so, but please purchase cards that do NOT contain glitter (per request by the hospitals).
