The Washington Nationals are hosting their 3rd annual University of Virginia Day on Saturday, June 24 at 4:05pm when they host the Cincinnati Reds. Join hundreds of Washington DC area UVA alumni, students, parents, and fans at Nationals Park as we cheer on former UVA baseball star Ryan Zimmerman, Racing President Tom, and our NL East division leading Washington Nationals. We have had several hundred UVA fans in attendance each of the past two years, and we are anticipating another strong turnout this year.
New this year, the UVA Club of Washington DC will be hosting a pregame social event from 2-4pm at Willie’s Brew and Que. The pregame social event will be an opportunity to network with UVA alumni, students, and fans from the Washington DC area and from other nearby UVA Clubs. Light appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided, and additional food and alcoholic drinks will be available for sale. Willie’s Brew and Que is conveniently located at 300 Tingey Street SE, just two blocks away from Nationals Park.
The UVA Club of Washington is offering tickets in two sections at Nationals Park. The Outfield Reserved lower bowl ticket package is $50 and the Right Field Terrace upper deck ticket package is $20. Fans who order the Outfield Reserved lower bowl ticket package will receive a New Era Nationals & UVA co-branded hat when they enter the ballpark (the hat is not included in the Right Field Terrace ticket package). Both ticket packages also include free entry into the UVA Club of Washington’s official pregame social event at Willie’s Brew and Que.
As part of our day at the ballpark, the UVA Club of Washington will be collecting donations for Horton’s Kids’ Back to School Drive. Horton’s Kids is a UVA alumni led community-based 501(c)3 nonprofit that empowers at-risk children in grades K-12 and prepares them for college, career, and life through educational opportunities. Horton’s Kids’ Operation Backpacks drive aims to collect 205 durable backpacks and school supplies for 115 children in grades K-5 and 90 children in grades 6-12. Please consider bringing a backpack or some school supplies to donate to the Horton’s Kids Back to School Drive.
We hope to see you at Nationals Park on Saturday, June 24th!
