Returning to work after taking care of your children can be an exciting – and overwhelming – venture. You may wonder “WHAT do I do next?” or “What CAN I do next?”, along with the ever-popular “HOW do I get a job after all these years?” In this webinar, Amanda Flora teaches you what to expect as you return to the workforce and how to market yourself to potential employers. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions and share stories about this extraordinary time. Whether your children are still in diapers or are (finally) out of the house, join us to discover how to regain confidence, market yourself using web resources and social media, and plot your next career move.

About Amanda Flora

Amanda Flora (Educ ’08) received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from UVA’s Curry School of Education. While at Curry, she provided career development and personal counseling services to undergraduate students as Coordinator of the Personal Career and Development Center. After graduation, Amanda served as Assistant Director of McIntire’s Commerce Career Services until leaving to spend more time with her growing family. In addition to staying-at-home with her children, she teaches Career Counseling and other courses to graduate students (both online and at UVA) and works independently as a career counselor. She is a National Certified Counselor and is a member of the National Career Development Association, in addition to several other professional and honor associations. When she is not plotting her next career move, she is wiping noses, changing diapers, and hoping for a full night’s sleep.
