About Betty Shotton

Betty Shotton is a lifelong leader turned coach, author and speaker. Her professional life has been defined by entrepreneurship; she has started up and led seven companies, predominantly in the real estate and aviation fields. Her largest endeavor went public on the NYSE in a roll-up trading as ResortQuest International. Today ResortQuest is a part of Wyndham Worldwide.

Betty also spent many years establishing commercial air service on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  She often joined her flight teams as a commercially rated, ATP pilot, flying well-heeled vacationers into the busy airports of DC, Philadelphia and New York.

Today Betty devotes her time to executive coaching, strategic consulting and public speaking. She is the CEO and owner of Liftoff Leadership LLC and a partner with Berkana Consulting Group, both in Black Mountain, North Carolina.

She is an A&S graduate of UVA and has her MBA. She serves on the Advisory Board of The Batten School of Leadership &Public Policy. She credits her experience as part of the first class of women at The University, as having a significant impact on shaping and strengthening her professional character and career.
