Career Advising

Alumni Career Services (ACS) offers individual career advising to Contributing Members by appointment. We address career topics ranging from updating your resume to honing your online presence, negotiating a raise, and planning for retirement. Our services center around coaching: we empower you with the tools you need to take charge of your career process.

Appointments are 50 minutes long and are held by phone or Zoom.

Upcoming Changes to Advising Appointments

Integrity, inclusion, connection, innovation and service are the Alumni Association’s core values. We continually seek better ways to serve alumni and offer quality career programming that meets the needs of a growing and diverse alumni population. To that effort, we would like to alert you to a change to the Alumni Association’s alumni career advising services. Effective September 1, 2022, we will no longer offer career advising packages. This change will enable our team to develop new and more inclusive career offerings that will serve more alumni, including virtual drop-in hours and on-demand recordings focused on specific career topics.

Our individual advising services will continue to be available to Contributing Members at no charge, and packages purchased on or before August 31, 2022, will be honored for up to one year from date of purchase.

Please stay tuned for more information on our new offerings! If you have questions, please contact Liz Sprouse at ecs9u@virginia.edu.
