Peter J. Sposato attended the University of Virginia from 1975–1979 and graduated from the School of Engineering with honors. During his time on Grounds, Peter demonstrated an exceptional ability to balance athletic pursuits and academic achievement. He was an accomplished member of the baseball team and notably holds the University’s single game record for RBIs (10) and home runs (4). Today he is a Managing Partner of an engineering firm based out of New York City yet returns to Charlottesville often for sporting events and career/recruitment events at the School of Engineering.
The scholarship will be awarded annually to a rising second-, third-, or fourth-year student who best exemplifies the qualities that marked Peter’s time at the University and how he approaches life to this day. These characteristics include: academic achievement, uncompromising integrity, and an abiding love for the University. The value of the award will be $2,000 for the 2017–18 academic year.
