Honor Endowment

In an effort to preserve and perpetuate the Honor System, the Alumni Association created the Honor Endowment.

Preserving the Honor System as a student-run entity is as important as anything at the University. Under the management of the Alumni Association, the Honor System Endowment will provide a dedicated source of funding to support education of the student body on the ethical basis for the Honor System.

The higher the standard of conduct made possible by the Honor System is a common thread among Virginia alumni of all generations, and this endowment represents a crucial step in its preservation.

The funds will supplement the current budget of the Honor Committee. The primary purpose of the Honor Endowment is to allow the committee to expand and improve its awareness, training and education programs.

Legacy Scholarship

This important award is offered each year to an incoming first-year legacy applicant to an undergraduate school at the University of Virginia, and is renewable for four years of study at the University. The scholarship aims to select outstanding students who might not otherwise be able to attend the University were it not for winning this award.  Currently the funding is at a level that only one scholarship of $5,000 can be awarded each year. Our goal is to grow the endowment to be able to offer 5 scholarships per year. The Alumni Association is pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to incoming first-year legacies.
