Reunions Weekend is being held June 5-8. 2014. Over 4000 alumni and their families will return to Charlottesville to celebrate their reunion. The Alumni Association is currently seeking students for both paid and volunteer positions.
Reunion Interns will be responsible for working various events throughout Reunions Weekend: June 5-8, 2014. Interns will receive free meals for the majority of the weekend, as well as a Reunions t-shirt, and On-Grounds Housing (if needed). This internship will allow students to see the inner workings of special event planning and production. Applications must be received by Monday, March 24.
There will be two crews of Reunion Interns: Event Crew and Grounds Crew.
Members of the Event Crew will help make Reunions Weekend a success by staffing class dinners, band parties, kids’ activities, and other reunion events. They will assist with set up and break down of events as well as performing check in duties and hospitality-based tasks.This position requires that you work Friday, June 6th 9 am to 1 am, and on Saturday, June 7th from 8 am to 1:30 am. There may be the opportunity for some interns to work from 2-9 pm on Thursday evening as well. Event crew members will be paid $8 per hour.
Members of the Grounds Crew will transport items to and from Alumni Hall and distribute décor and supplies to the various event sites around Grounds. This is a physically demanding position. Please do not apply if you are not able and willing to lift up to 50 lbs. You must also have a valid driver’s license. This position requires that you work on Friday, June 6th from 11 am to 1 am, and on Saturday, June 7th from 9:30 am to 1:30 am. Grounds Crew team members will be paid $10 per hour.
