U.Va. Networking Resources
UCAN is a U.Va. Alumni-only searchable database of over 25,000 alumni who have agreed to connect with fellow alumni and students about career, job search strategies, and company backgrounds. UCAN is password protected; you will be directed to the HoosOnline Career Center to login or register at no charge.
This LinkedIn Group is for alumni who currently hold a U.Va. degree or attended a U.Va. degree-granting program. In order to be approved for membership, your U.Va. education must be visible in your LinkedIn profile. Students are not eligible until they graduate. Jobs are frequently posted by alumni in addition to discussions and notices about events.
This LinkedIn Group is open to alumni, recruiters, employers and recruiters, faculty, staff, parents, students and friends of the University. Develop connections, share resources, give and receive advice on jobs and internships, careers, graduate school and more. Join the Group, make connections.
U.Va. Alumni Interest Groups (AIGs) are volunteer organizations whose members share common bonds as part of their University experience. The groups are dedicated to celebrating their connections and continuing U.Va.’s tradition of service.

UVaClubs are located around the world. Some have Networking Committees to assist alumni who are relocating to that area. Most clubs sponsor events throughout the year where you can network with other alumni face-to-face.
General Networking Resources
If you have additional degrees, see if they have alumni databases similar to UCAN and join their LinkedIn Groups as well. Search for community and regional in-person events to attend, as well as online group you can participate it. There are literally thousands of opportunities for networking.
LinkedIn is an essential research and networking tool.
